Singur issue.
by Susobhan Banerjee on Dec 29, 2006 11:04 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

I am dead against the idea of acquiring agricultural land to establish any industry. I have heard that land acquired in Singur is very fertile. So it is very unfair on part Mr. Bhattacharya to destroy this land for the sake of any big industrialist.

You are right. after reading Shobha warrior's interviews with M.S Swaminathan I have a better idea of what is happening in Nandigram and all over India. India can not lose farm land for factories. Why does India need somany cars. There are not enough roads. may be We must sign a referendum requesting Tata to give up the farm land but develop the other low lying area since they have money.

People have forgotten those bad old days of food shortage when we had to import wheat. It will be a shame to do that again. Like MS Swaminathan said it will be like importing un employment.
