We need to avoid publishing articles on the occupation of prestigious positions in India on caste, sex or communal lines. These positions are up for grabs by the meritorious candidates. It will hurt the sentiments of those who belong to the less developed sections if we try talking about these achievenments by them. It makes them feel that the society never excpected them to occupy those positions. God does not distribute merit and capability on the basis of these factors. By publishing such articles, we are widening the unwanted chasm between the different sections.

Well written, Mr Sharma. On this one occasion, I have to say that rediff has acted in a very 'dalit' manner in news reportage.

yes 100% right.new CJI has to occupy his post due to his merits as well his seniority and nt because of being a Dalit.we in india are still following congress, comrades and their illegal children(regional parties) media of all kinds has destroyed the merits of dalits and also lowered their dignity by mentiong a dalit girl raped,a dalit rickshawalah murdered etc.pls stop all this nonsense game and give respect to quality, hardwork, merits, seniority despite being from a poor family

I'm in total agreement with Sri R R Sarma's views. With due respect for media, I can't help deploring their 'desparation' for attention and sensation. Hoping for the emergence of 'responsible' media houses.
