It is absolutely believeable as the immigration/custom/airport authorities also belong to the same corrupt goverment cadre.
These are same people who allow terrorist to board flights and get their more dreadlier counterparts released.
My feeling is the couple should have attempted to bribe the guys. I am absolutely certain they would have saved a lot of pain. They forgot that this is INDIA. If you can pay, then you can get away with anything. JUST BRIBE and ENJOY LIFE, then be it traffic signal or immigration.

Sanjeev, do you think they did not try to bribe the officials? Only when the officials refused to tow their line, this Vijay or whoever must have started abusing the officials, and then only these guys must have thought of teaching this so called IT Techy guy a lesson. Kudos to officials for a change. Mera Bharat Mahan!
