The episode is shameful to say the least. While the customs oficials will, no doubt, hide behind curtain of 'rules' in this case, they cannot absolve themselves of the criminal conduct if it is true that they granted a visa to a French national at the same time. This needs to be established and then action taken against these stupid officials.
