Your sorrow and troubles are understandable. But, do Amercan immigration treat others with a warm heart?? They just follow rules. Even if some minor issue is there, they will deport people. I know of a family, who left US after their vacation back to India - only that they over-stayed for about an hour in US. Next time they landed in US, they were summarily rejected Entry. As for French people, there may be some agreement with the French Govt. I would say, Americans probably are most cold hearted people.
