Had this happened to an Indian in US or any such advanced country it would have been fine under the pretext that they are disciplined and blah blah but when we India do the same things we ridcule each other like this....what humanity are we talking of.....we are expecting law makers / implementers to excuse us even if we are to blame or we make a mistake like this one (silly forgetting a VISA!!0...no way...I think this was and should be the right approach. Its high time that people (both NRI Indians etc and Foreginers) take India seriously.

This is ridiculous behaviour by immigrations!
Its even stupid to defend such behaviour! I jst fail to understand why we (Indians)justify anything which our country fails at.
I completely disagree with the comments posted here favouring or justifying the behaviour of the Immigrations authority.
Someone wrote that if u have young kids then the rules dont change for you. Well, let me tell u one thing mister, any authority/country that functions by rule book only without putting the law/rule in the context is stupid. You have to show mercy for the fact that there are young children here and its only a VISA issue not like they smuggled something. Besides, are the authorities saying that they have excellent controls over people entering the country illegaly!
They could've asked the parents to sign a bond and could've given them more than jst 45 mins!
And guys stop blaming people who live outside....It aint like they committed a crime. and jst by living in India u havent done a lot for the country!

Of course rules are made so that peoples' rights are respected,in this case the children's rights are completely ignored and abused.The parents should try the state and its officials in a court of law for the monstrous behaviour by the immigration officials towards the children

replying to gopal who replied for piyush that french man got visa and not passport... he does not have right to enter india without visa.. so he got transit.. but for the eligibiliy and nationality you need to have passport dood...
