We have no proof of the french guy your are mentioning. All Indian staying abroad have same feeling like you I am not surprised.
Secondly your children are not Indian, please let me say this why on earth are you taking India for granted. I have visited US and UK many times but every time I go I enure if my documents are in place for atleast 10 time, the why are u taking India for granted. I am happy that the immigration officer has done his duty. Same thing has happened with some of my friend in US of A and they were deinied entry when they had valid visa. I feel sorry for your childeren that they had to suffer for you mistake and attitude towards my country. And sir its not a question of silent sleep, its a question of duty. If that officer had accepted bribe from you and allowed you people inside India it would have been a case for sleepless night for all Indians, because in that anyone can come here. Please stop making a big fuss and hiding ur mistakes.

Mr. Deepkant I would like to educate you and let you know there are no issue with our Indian laws but people don't follow them. In this case the couple could have got the transit visa as per Indian immigration law of not 24 hr or 48 hrs but 72 hrs. What do you say now, hence probably the officer was giving it to the French guy but was not in a 'mood' to give to these little kids whom he thought would e danger to the countrym or maybe the kids did not give him any BRIDE!

I think you have not used your judgement. No body is asking Indian Immigration to make special provision for these peopel. The simple question is: should not the cou[ple be allowed to correct thier mistake and be att he airport for rerasoanble period - perps 24 hourts so that they can meet the legal requirements? I have senn such cases in USA and people (even documented criminals) are given some time. I thnk you should have learned that human considerations make a country great not the blind use of power in your hand.
