First only the people who go through this kind ordeal will know what the suffering is. I have the same aged kids and if I go through the same issue I am sure it is going to be painful.



I am not sure how easy it is to forget visa (and that too two of them) during the travel.



The bureaucrats in INDIA go by the book and not by logic. So blaming them is not going to change anything.



I have not heard any US citizen allowed entry to US because he forgot the passport. They allow them by checking the computer and completing other formalities. Afet entering the country you need to follow-up and fix the issue.



If the US citizen has kids born outside and forget any document they allow them immigration.



I personally know kids of non-us citizen were allowed to enter USA. Only thing is thy need to follow-up and correct the issue. If it is an adult then it is altogether different issue.



Do not expect that Indian system will take care their citizen. If you lost passport you are screwd. That is not the case with many of the other countries.
