The Sachar Committeee Report should is politically motivated. The Congress and Laloo, Mulayam and ilks has always used Muslims as a vote bank ( and BJP too tries to woo them particularly near elections, though my muslims brothers are never going to vote for it though!) and the sachar report is a ploy to provide them reservations. I am against reservation as such reservations donot augur well for India in a long term. What we need to do is to provide 'reservation' (ie, better education and resources to economically backward people- whether be Hindus or Muslims or others- and abolish reservation in a phased manner!
By the way I just saw the Bangla (Bangladesi) movie Matir Moina('The Clay Bird') directed by Tareque Masud and liked the theme: the clash between orthodox islamic thinking and the moderate Islamic views.

this is the only country in the world where a muslim president and sikh PM and christian leader leading and splitting hindus and muslims and christians when 75% population is hindus
