Nuclear Weapons are ornaments in India's cupboard
by INDRANEEL CHANDRA on Dec 10, 2006 05:08 AM   Permalink

In to-day's world almost any country can design and develop nuclear weapons ...the technology is not a big deal as was the case in the 60s and 70s. In my opinion a few nuclear weapons from across the world should be left in the hands of the UN security council and the rest dismantled. No sensible man or country can ever think of actually using one and therefore it serves as no practicle use except as a deterrent - for which a few R&D centres/ nuclear heads are good enough ! What is of practicle purpose however, is is the use of this modern technology to manage our poverty and health standards and therefore we must look at it in the context of progressing to a better , civilized world.
