I do believe that in the present scenario, US and Eueopean authorities have become much more concious in order to prevent any mishap. At times it does create nuisance to passengers and to Asian passengers to a greater extent.
However I faced a racist attack without any security issue at Heathrow in June this year. Just before i was about to board flight, a female security officer looked at my laptop and commented that at times they see such people carrying laptops about whom they cannot even dream off possessing one.
this was the kind of treatment that I received when after my 2 yrs of stay in UK i was returning back, finishing off my studies.

Thanks to reader Harsha Shettigar for pointing out the link to a true account of what happened. Unfortunately we Indians have to face the Karma of our neighbours and Hindus have to face the Karma of proximity to Muslims.
After reading the account put out by Rediff, and I am really thankful for their unbiased coverage, it is obvious that the incident occurred due to misbehaviour rather than 'racial profiling'. It is time we realised that we are subject to rules prescribed in the interests of air safety, and the quicker we get rid of the bee in our collective bonnet the better. We always have the choice of not travelling to or not working in a country that is not to our liking. Many of the readers are working in the US and unhappy about being subjected to searches or other forms of perceived discrimination. They would do well to read a recent survey that says that India provides the best wages to senior execs on a Purchasing Power Parity basis. So the choice is to stay in the US with clean roads and clean air and racial profiling or come to a place without the aforesaid facilities and Chalta Hai. And as for the Muslims of the world, tough luck! Collective Karma you know!
