My understanding of the given situation is that the minority community seems to have a reservation of considering Bhaarat Maata and a vandana to her as it contradicts their understanding of the almighty or methods to praise him in masculine form. But all this controversy arose in deep contrast to what we see in the national anthem where it says "adhinaayaka jaya he" which apperently refers to glorifying the non existant ruler or emperor in masculine form. If we refer to our country as motherland or a nation (this word is derived from the root natal refering to womb)then we should have no hinderence in singing the Vandee Maataram loud and clear.
