Immortal songs like Vande Mataram should be kept above petty politics. During the freedom struggle even the Muslims of that time sang this song. Imam Bukhari is seeking political relevence and has made his statement with theis objective.
Vande Mataram and Jana Gana Mana are Indians' pride......these sould be recited at every public ceremony..... We are Indians first and always.

Seems to me as if Mr. Ayaz Chamdia history is very weak. In the fight of freedom it was hindus who sacrificed there lives more than muslims. While hindus were fighting for freedom muslims were more bothered about building a new nation by name "Pakistan". I need not prove this. Count the number of freedom fighters on both sides and everbody gets the proof.
The harsh reality is that The people of India,pakistan,Afganistan,Bangaladesh were all Hindus b4 who were forcibly converted to Islam from the invaders of Arab. Today we fight on the name of religion and Arabs are quitely doing business.
Well i think a religion if it says that praising a nation is wrong cant be a religion itself. I think Islam does not fall into that category.
Md. Yazed Alam Khan is also a muslim but takes pride in reciting 'Vande mataram'. I dont know what itchs Mr. Ayaz Chamdia for doing the same.

Agreed that we are Indians first ,but pls don't forget history that all the Muslims are hindustanis first and pls Do not compare the Hon'ble Indian President with a Mafia leader .We Indians donot see him [the president] as a Muslim we see him as an Indian, and not only him we see every one in India as Indians.

Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam recites Saraswathi Vandana and knows more about hinduism and never took himself to religious fanatism.
