This hundred year old song in fact energised thousands of freedom fighters in their fight against British. It gave spirit to the freedom fighters and it describes the pride of our country as well. So why should we curse this song which has its own heritage and tradition... Suddenly rising against Vande Mataram may help the protestors for publicity but it will have no other benefits. Instead of worrying on such silly things, let us concentrate on the effective and productive means to make our nation strong and a super power among all nations.

your views are matured and simple. India needs such persons. This builds the inner strength of the nation. More than illeteracy, it the narrow mindedness that one should avoid when it comes to respecting the mother land. It is unfortunate that there are humans who do not know what a mother is, leave alone religion.
