It really terrifi to know that we r fighing to sing the song or not. first of all national anthems should not be written based on religion, it should be written based on motherland. its culture, its people, respect love. If the anthem mentions any religion it cannot be accepted by individual community. singing the song is left to individual. motherland and your mother are equal. by human ethics its in our heart to respect. so there is no meaning in fighting on this issue.
As i dont know sanskrit, i dont know the meaing properly. i am sure most of the indians dont know at all.
stop fighting, sing if u want or stop u dont want.

GREAT! I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU! "Anthem should not be written based on religion." The first ever Khan to daresay that! Please propogate your view in Muslim Countries. For example, in Libiya , it is Allahu Akbar... In Iran, it is Jumhuri-ye Eslami-e Iran
Let them also follow your advice and stop singing their "Communal" national anthems.
