How will India become a superpower
by anil on Aug 15, 2006 10:38 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

India will become a superpower when it learns to do the following:

1. Its citizens learn to respect its own citizens
2. Provide food, clothing and shelter for its elderly and disabled (the real disabled)
3. Decent medical care to all its citizens
4. Free education (decent) upto high school and 50% of higher education in engineering, medicine and sciences provided free of cost.
5. Eliminate corruption ....this means someone investigating and prosecuting the likes of the Nehru/Gandhi family and punishing them for possession of a dispropotionate amount of unearned wealth

Just the above with the 5th being most important will change things to the point that Indians want worry about being powerful.

Agree with you 100%
Singapore did not become singapore unless lee kwan pushed out all resistence of left red parties and socialists out of the country... too much democracy which can be purchased is the problem of this country.

Its good to be angry, we need that.
Yup, India is indeed run by myopic morons with unbelievably regressive mindsets. the very idea of he becoming a superpower 2010 is laughable. But then, things ARE changing. things are happening. Slowly, perhaps too slowly, but we're definitely on the right track. It WILL get better. Its better now than it was in the 90's. It was better then than it was in the 80's..........
The pace of change(or the lack of it) is mind numbingly slow, but at least we're heading in the right direction.
So keep that smile on your face, and lets be as honest as practically possible in our own lives. And lets be generous and kind. Lets not let the cynics win. there are lots and lots of good people too, lets try to be one of them. It doesnt take much.
jai Hind.
