Why no ''Indians'' live among Hindus and Muslims....
by Kapil Upadhyaya on Apr 11, 2006 12:02 PM   Permalink

Indians or no Indians- many people round the world would share my disappointment with events in"Why I wont live among Hindus".

I grew up in a democratic world, in a typical Indian town;competed in studies with students whose religion may have been the last thing on my mind; worked with people from different regions;married a person from a different caste. And recently in a small American town was enthralled to see children from India, Middle East, Korea and local black community play together.

I empathize with the sufferers of the religious divide, but that divide has been in and out for ages now.Times have changed since the Mumbai riots;and for good undoubtedly.(Otherwise, with our increasing population one would expect a proportionate increase in riots too).

A teacher once recounted the story of a frog, who thought his pond was all the world that there was, until a frog from the river came by and told its experiences.

India stands for generosity and diversity.People have thrived in the same country where someone denied you a house for an invalid reason.Lets focus on our wealth instead of the lack.Lets get past people with restricted visions lest we restrict our own growth.Jai Hind
