I wonder why this column came up in the first place. A stray incident of discrimination does not portray the picture in the whole country. We are a secular nation and should be proud of that.
I understand that the writer faced horrific experiences during the riots, but it was both sided, even Hindus went through that. And sadly, by writing such a piece you are doing nothing but fuelling the passions in a sensitive issue which might just bloom into another catastrophic incident.
And from an Indian to another, if you indeed feel so discriminated, you should disown your citizenship and move to some other place. Maybe Bangladesh would treat you better.
We are a huge nation of different creeds and discrimination would arise. You wont stop looking at one of our Mongoloid brothers from a detached perspective for example. Everyone faces some amount of inconvinience. Even I was discriminated against, but in the greater interst of the country, which gave me so much, I adjusted and moved on as a loyal citizen.
So my advice is that you please look around and see that not all Hindus are like what you percieve them to be.
