I think the author, Syed Firdaus Ashraf has raised a very important issue. Discrimination(in any form, religion, sex, economic status, home state, caste) is rampant in today's society and we as citizens should raise this issue and debate whether a person needs to be protected against it by laws. I was rather disappointed with some of the comments by the readers. One can give counter examples in any situation but pointing fingers is never going to solve the problem, rather it will make it worse. And I definitely don't think this is a third class article. It is a very very relevant article and if one thinks about it, most of us have been discriminated against at some point in our lives for different reasons. I empathize with the author totally.
