Had Sania been an Olympic Swimmer, would the Maulvis have asked her to swim wearing Salwars ?

Today we say man and woman are equal, then why this discrepancy, we r in 21st centuary, does this mean no muslim girl can participate in swimming, tennis.

If she feels comfortable in that dress, and their parents are having no objection, who r we to say anything.

We all r proud of her.

Anjaneya,

According to Islamic law, women is not allowed to expose her body except face and hands. At home she can wear relaxed clothes. The question is IF Sania claims to be a religious Muslim, then she has to ensure compliance to the rules. If she is silent about her faith, then leave it up to her. I think all women players should follow decent dress code regardless of their religion.
