Very touching article. I stayed in New Orleans more than 1/2 a dozen times, each time a week or more. It is a very enjoyable city. Canal street where several Gujarati shops sell electronic goods, large number of food malls, the Madras India house like coffee (only place we can get coffee with Chicory) with dough nuts on the bay, the night life on bourbon are hard to forget. In spite of such tourism and constant sounds of celestial music by the black artisan who played for generations, the park where artists draw your caricature for a small price is hard to forget. What caused the problem-simple, not Katrina, not the breach of the canals that feed from Lake Panchatrain- it is callous disregard and absolute arrogance of an incompetent. I Never saw in my 34 years in USA the pride in ignorance, incompetence, and religious fanatism. When we see pictures of poor and sic, it hard to control tears. I wonder what happened to the Indians and Pakistanis who make considerable section. No newspaper or media talk about. Vijaya Kumar
