1965 war: a reality check
by labrea on Oct 17, 2005 08:53 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Indian intelligence is and has been non-existent - Pakistan's ability to breach the LOC in Kashmir with total impunity showed this and Kargil has once again proved that even more vividly. But it's the stupidity and incompetence of the army leaders that is mind-boggling. That their actions were not coordinated with the air force shows thier arrogance and disdain for the other braches of the armed forced, especially thier ignorance of modern system of integrated warfare for which India paid a heavy price, not to mention the grave danger to the country due to a dithering govt's reticence at acquiring adequate modern defense hardware. Hope someone in Delhi learned some lessons, but I seriously doubt it - remember Kargil anyone?
