Eyewitness account in Islamabad
by Nisar Farooq on Oct 10, 2005 10:30 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I have read what the contributor has written.
It is very much an account of a layman who is not aware how these search and rescue operations are conducted.
The debris could not be removed by heavy lifting gear as it could disturb the whole mound of collapsed material and endanger the lives of those persons who were trapped but were alive.
We did not hear any one saying to the President to go away.

Earthquakes do not give any warning and because of landslides and heavy rain and the vast area affected by this catastrophic happening it takes time to put all logistics together to help the victims.

For your kind information. A catastrophe similar to this killing something like 40,000 people also came to Gujrat. Why did that happen. You are point less. These things happen all over the world. Katrina, Rita are the first examples. And talking of killing innocent people, under which law 2,000 muslims were burnt in gujrst..........speak now. Or are you speechless.
