Chennai culture and kiss?
by Arthi on Oct 03, 2005 09:03 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Good that there is somebody to question the moral deviations in toda's society and try to maintain decency in our society. It is disgusting to see young people hugging, kissing, dancing, flirting and wearing skimpy clothes in public. This should STOP. Otherwise it will not be long before our country becomes like the west, where topless bars and divorce are the order of the day. Would you want your son or daughter to sucked into any such thing? Please do not criticize the moral police, let them do their duty. In fact we should praise them. Our country is unique and we love our country because of its culture. Let us preserve the beautiful traditions of our country.

The point is you or me dont, or should I say, "should'nt" have the right to FORCE people to our "Indian culture". If they believe in it they will follow it. If someone wants to stay a virgin till marraige they will, and if they choose not to it is their choice. Who are you to question it? If you are talking about "minors" indulging in sex it is our duty to educate them on the problems like AIDS, teenage pregnancy etc...How many schools talk of sex????? What about adults who are not married?? Do they have to ask your permission or your "chennai women" also? Instead of educating if you think you can FORCE people to follow "Indian Culture" it is not going to work. This Hypocrisy of "pretending" to be "pure" will continue.... We have to protect the right to express oneself at any cost.

Arti..u'v made a good point there..But i must say that most of us are die hard patriots of this country , who'd want it to change "for the good".I do not support things like almost makin out in public, & things like that, coz thats goin a li'l overboard. Most people would not wanna indulge in pda's on purpose. But in a country like india where i guess there are space restrictions(cramped houses) & joint families, its no harm for a couple to cuddle up in a cozy corner n stuff like that, coz that aint no crime.
