You deserve the credit for writing a remarkably detailed and objective article. When I think of India, I realize that the following things 'contain' India from within. 1. The BIMARU states-most strikingly UP and Bihar. 2. Corruption 3. Lack of reliable law enforcing agencies. 4. Appeasement policies of the political parties 5. A large fraction of the the Indian politicians. We may argue that some of these have been instigated by external forces but we cant simply hold them responsible for everything. So the best bet for India would be to try and fix these issues and maintaining friendly relations and a safe distance from both of these 'big two'.
This was an absolutely wonderful article on the essential clash of interests between India and China on just about every issue. And it doesn't help that China has been very unethical, regimented, single minded, obsessive and collectivist, whereas India is practically the opposite. Incidentally, China blocking India's entry into the UN security council hasn't inspired a tiny fraction as much commentary as India's vote against Iran recently. What gives? Isn't India more important to Indians thsn Iran?
