In a movie, the male lead makes a comment "I see couples put more effort in getting a divorce rather than solving the differences and getting along together as they were when they married". Couples separating out of disdain shud not even care for any alimony. However, if they separate for other reasons less volatile, alimony can be offered either way. After all, how can one dunk the person he/she loved till a couple of months back & be so cruel.
