once convicted make a separate application to the portuguese government and get them around to your line of thinking by explainig to them the gravity of the crime of communal terrorism and of genocide of innocent civilians of pre planned organised crime.
they too will understand.
take your own time. let the convict bide his time and think of all the crimes that he committed all his life. let him repent at liesure.
let the terror of the noose be a suspense to him day in day out. and then... atlast one fine day at predawn execute him at the gallows. let him defecate at the sight of the 'altar'
