India Bleeds ...
by sathish on May 10, 2005 01:42 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I have often wondered why no government at the center takes any concrete action for the eastern part of India rather than just announce crores of rupees during the independence day speeches. Nowadays most of the politicians are busy trying to project themselves through the media rather than do actual service to the nation. In the process they are totally oblivion to such issues because these issues do not create much sensation for the media !!

I feel that the uncontrolled booming of sensationalist media in India is currently one of the major problems facing India. India is being controlled by and through the media than by actual issues and vision.

I agree. The Indian media has a lot to do in highlighting real issues. All they do is just bash up Advani or lalu or modi. Ministers in govt already with so many issues naturally spend time on the ones that are highlighted in media. PM calls a night meeting to discuss who threw chappal at lalu, rather if he had called a meeting to discuss Manipur, it would have been far worthwhile. The govt should employ a person like KPS gill from Manipur who can bring in results within a year.
