Secular?
by rajkhalid on May 10, 2005 09:47 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Maybe there is some truth in what this author says but why make it sound like a Muslim bashing tirade? There are other ways to look at secularism also. When religon is seperated from State, police stations, police vehicles should not have images of Gods and other religous significance.

Let the State first make a sincere attempt to seperate religon from its daily business. Maybe the author can look into this? Maybe it is easier to bash a minority that to take on the State.

You are talking of separating state and religion??..Shame on you!!..Dont you know that Kanchan gupta is person of "faith". So religion should be an integral part of state..right, Kanchan??..We r talking of Uniform civil code only because these minorities are agains it..But Uniform civil code should not be against the conformity of religion or 'faith'..
Actually we need uniform civil code more to shut the mouth of these hatred mongers like Mullahs of Muslim board and writers like Kanchan Gupta!!

Oh, what a brilliantly foolish reply "Indian Lover". So you feel that UCC is only discussed because minorities are against it. On what basis do you say that minorities are against it? On the shouts of a few noisy activists? And so if minorities are against the right of females to vote, will you say it's bad for us to support voting by women? If minorities are against birth control, will you say it's illegitimate for us to discuss that? If minorities are against these things, then it only damages their own credibility. One can't automatically gain credibility in one's arguments just by flaunting the title 'minority' all the time. I don't see that most minorities are against UCC anyway. It's just the shrill people like you who claim it so.
