In TN people have always given very decisive poll verdicts since independence. Hence Karunanidhi was correct in saying that people will not accept a coalition Government in Tamil Nadu. As regards to accusation that DMK is enjoying power at Centre with Congress in a coalition set-up, it must be remembered that initially DMK was reluctant to join the Govt. like the Left but the intervention of Sonia Gandhi alone forced them to re-consider the decision. Hence Karunanidhi was correctly adamant in saying that not a single ministry will be shared with the Congress at the state level. Even in the present crisis, it was the PM and Congress President who finally persuaded the DMK not to leave the ministries by personally telephoning Karunanidhi and cajoling him not to leave the central ministries. If DMK leaves, the loss will be to Congress and UPA only and not to them.
