Modi Visa
by Vivek on Mar 18, 2005 04:14 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Every year thousands of business workers and students from India are denied entry to the US. His highness MR MODI never said that was undemocratic. We are all also citizens of the same very country, although a little less in stature and ferocity than Mr Modi. Besides, granting visa to US is none of Mr Modi's, or for that matter Indian Government's, business and its purely their own call who should land in their country and who should be kicked-off. I think Americans living in Gujarat will be next on target of Mr Modi's "hit-list". I can foresee that he will very "democratically" "request" all americans in Gujarat to return home. After all, he is STILL the CM of Gujarat, and has an army of fanatics behind him. McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Coke...you are in line too for some cordial Gujarati Hospitality, All the very best in life...(that is...if you are fotunate enough to be living)

Very well said Vivek, I 100% agree to your views. What ever Mr. Modi has to say that no court has given a verdict against him, How can one go against a fanatic ? but all the intelligent people knows the whole story about Godhra riots. By denying the Visa, U.S. has proved that they are intelligent enough to read Mr. MODI, and his hunger for power. N number of eligible people might have been denied Visa to U.S. but this was one a very legitimate reason to Deny a Visa to U.S.

GREAT DECISION .. U.S.....

Dear Vivek,

A student or a bussiness people being denied of VISA is not a national issue.
But when a diplomat gets rejected of a VISA then it is an Issue, since such an issue would underline US foreign polices and the relation it has with that perticular country.

Vivek, you have been candid. Narendra Modi, the fascist and fanatic, may be Almighty in Gujarat where his genocides are overlooked. However, the United States of America (USA) is a powerful country that will not tolerate criminals, imbalanced characters and other undesirable elements in their country. If they could put the once mighty, feared and dreaded Saddam Hussain in a slammer, than Modi is a mouse. If this character feels that he has been insulted and has any self-respect in him, then he would never ever visit USA till his last breath. Why is he eager to go to USA, when he can get dhokla, ghatiya, alu wadi in Gujarat. Has he developed an appetite for hamburghers, cheese burghers, etc.? In India and especially in Gujarat, Modi may be powerful, but in USA he is a non-entity and this has been proved beyond any shadow of doubt by not granting him a diplomatic visa. Moreover, his tourist and business visa is revoked. It is high time, this bloke does some soul searching about his misdeeds and the reasons for creating enemies all around, leave politics and do charitable work for repentance.

Haha,i agree with you and must tell you that I like your sense of humor.

The fact that people like Modi are put powerful positions,is itself a big insult to the secular fabric of this great country

US gov is very well within it's rights to refuse visa to anyone but the reasons for denial are atrocious. Specially when one considers the US track record in human rights in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. I am as big a critic of Mr. Modi's policies and views as anyone else but by denying him a visa on flimsy grounds the US has insulted our great nation. How can the US gov explain Mushy's travel to US (red carpet treatment apart) ? The same law should be applicable to everyone. It seems some people are more equal than others. If we do not stand up for ourselves no one else will.

Well expressed, Mr Vivek. It was not an insult to India or its constitution. It was a deserving insult to Modi.
