Indian police are inept, incompetent boofoons, more thugs than law officers. Not only are they unprofesional, but are illtrained, illmannered, illequipped, illpaid and totally corrupt ghoons. The people are more in need of protection from the police than the other way around, and this situation is not likely to change anytime soon, as long as netas are able to use them as thier personal creatures. No wonder conviction rates are so low in this stinking land - the police just can't make a case without beating the heck out of the accused.
