communal truth, secular lies
by avinash on Jun 06, 2005 10:45 AM   Permalink

as citizens of a greatest democratic union on earth we shd know the values on which this great country's constitution is based on. secularism is 1 of those values. before writing such articles i advice kanchan to clearly understand the meaning of secularism; putting aside your polotical loyalties. that's what makes a jounalist unbiased. secularism has nothing to do with, "if hindus don't... why muslims do?" or vice versa. it's not about even referring to any religion, & it's certainly not about 'sarvadharma samabhava'. it's about keeping all religoins equidistant (in short.. away) from polotical proceedings of the country. so, when congress pampers non hindu vote banks, it's certainly a pseudo secularist but the others definitely are anti secularists & they openly accept to be so. so, everything happening in the politics is a naked communal truth, regardless of the ideology. secularism doesn't exist in politics unfortunately, so everything is a secular lie. secularism only exists in the people of the nation, nowhere else. the damage open anti-secularists have done to the society using the term pseudo secularism as shield is truly most unforgettable in the modern history of india.
