I have never seen such rain in my life. We could not realize the real magnitude of the rain during the day while sitting in the office. Thought it will be bit difficult to reach home and started from my Seepz office for Kandivili East at 630 PM.
Was a strange experience seeing 3-4 feet of rushing waters. I had no other choice but to park my bike on the roadside near green fields and to walk home. The worst affected seem to the elderly and children returning from school and it was 930 Pm, some of the kids are yet to reach their home.
I could see also there where some apartments people where struggling to reach their home. 25-30 people made chains of two rows and in between they were trying to help the residents pass through. Scooter parked on the side where totally submerged except their rear-view mirror.
Opposite to Nirlon the road it was like a lake on the highway and the traffic was standstill, cars left unattended with indicators ON in the Highway. I got help from one motorcyclist from Goregaon till home, reached at 1130PM who returning back to his Mira Road office. He was going to his home at Andheri where his father escaped after falling into a drainage manhole.
