Stranded for Life!
by Sachin Ghodke on Jul 27, 2005 05:12 AM   Permalink

This has been the wrost monsoon season I have experienced since coming the Bombay in 1984. The high handed promises of BMC surely holds water (pun intended). Right now I am stuck in my office with few of my colleagues.

We had to wait for nearly 1.15 hours at a restaurant to have food. And the weather being what it is, we couldn't help our selves to a dash to warm our souls.

It took 2.30 hours to finish our dinner. The small not so busy restaurant and bar had the best and worst season of them all.

Some of my colleagues valiently tried to reach home only to reaslise that they were against a fury unknown to them. Wisely returned back. Now joking and shareing an immensely witty sabbitcal from home. Now we wonder would our superiors who reached home come back to office today. Simply, and hopefully, no.

We even tried calling the Central Railway help desk to ask of the availibility of the trains for us to reach home. A brave and unceasing answer greeted us - "Only when the rains stop, take a wild guess".

Such is our state of enthusiasm that we are only now writing our experiences here.

We wait...as a song in our office plays, "Raindrops keep falling on my head".
