History is there to analyse it and identify the mistakes and try to see that they nver occur again.Not to dig it and settle the centuries old accounts on the basis of religion. What had happened in the past in the times of empires can not be related directly to present society. You commented about the gandhian aspect of Mr Atal Bihari Vajpaye.It is that aspect which kept him as the top leader of the day even if he is not in power.(See India Today 24 Jan 2005).Our freedom fighting and after independence the social thinking are mainly influenced by Gandhiji.It is the gandhian thinking which gone into the shaping of modren India.We repect Gandhiji,Gandhian thinking, and any person who exhibits that thinking, whether it is Mr Vajpaye or you.
