I am surprised at the outrageous crap that the author spouts based on nothing more than paranoid fantasies, sweeping generalizations, flimsy connections (paras even went to Hong Kong twice!) and a total lack of any meaningful research to support the thesis. I wonder if anyone gives thought to the impact over rediff's editorial credibility and role as a opinion leader.
What is the best way to view China's poilicies in the neighbourhood? In Burma in 1988, India was the only country in Asia to show class by refusing to deal with the Burmese junta. China rushed in with arms and aid. Yes, India has backtracked, because it sees its idealism as being ineffectual. Should India see China's support to Pakistan ( missiles, nuclear aid) as something benign?
