The pawns without a vote
by The pawns without a vote on Feb 03, 2005 01:00 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The nation is paying the price of the leaders who were in power at the time of our independence. They were so idealisitc that they forgot the national interests. Look at China, it is 'Hannifying' its so-called autonomous regions. The notable examples are Uighurs and Tibetans. These areas have been increasingly Hannified. ON the other hadn, our leaders did not heed to the call of allowing Panjabis -devastated after partiion -to settle in Kashmir. Now, we see the situation of Kashmir Pandits themselves being driven out and not a single tear is being shed by our leaders, who have one standard for Hindus and another for other religionists.

Kashmir Pandits' case for a fair deal for them needs to be heard seriously by the central government.
