Politicians will not have the guts to admit.The scourge of reservation which is largely a discount on merit&has ruined the country;why do we complain of brain drain.The oft quoted reversal of damage done by 400 years of feudal system of 'not permitting' a certain family fr taking up education but pursue their profession is no more prevelant;in any case we have more than reversed that in less than 50 years. Look at the lamenting from Manmohan Singh downward that 'quality is not joining Govt'.How will it?While everyone has to score minimum, this privileged lot can be less than the minimum required of others; worse still there is special track,time bound promotions,performance/no perf, demoralising all performing work-force incl of the ones fr the reserved community.What this community&other economically backward need is not reservation but full eco assistance2pursue study &also eco assistance2the family so that bright youngsters are not denied learning opp.Thereafter no spl privileges promoting incompetance;prove yr worth2get a job/promo.That will attract quality&ensure the much touted(but real)equanimity too.Let us not forget;even Ambedkar wanted positive discrimation for 15yrs ONLY
