Dear friends

I wish many journalists would at some time or the other experience similar situations in govt hospitals.Yes there are callous medical personnel but the proportion is exactly similar to what we see in the general population which you would agree is by and large made up of good human beings. Even to this day in an emergency or an accident your chances of survival are brightest in govt set ups. The doctors there are also teachers and are dealing with 100 times more such emergencies than any private hospital however classy it may be.A couple of years back my neighbours son had an accident and was in a state of collapse and was taken to a corporate hospital. They went through the proces of scans etc all the while assuming it was a head injury.Nobody had the sense to realise that he was pale as a sheet and should therefore be bleeding internally rather than a injury to the head which would cause unconsciousness. He had a ruptured spleen and an emergency surgery with transfusion would have saved him.Under similar circumstance in govt hospitals I have seen lives being saved by sensible clinical knowledge.

Thanks for highlighting a positive aspect of our health care system.
