This is truly an inspiring speech providing a clear vision to the nation and exhorting the political and industry leaders and technologists to work for energy security transitioning to total energy independence. That portion of his speech dealing with Solar Farms and the Use of Bio-fuels addresses two of the potential means of achieving energy independence while at the same time showing great consideration for the rural masses of the country and how they could contribute to and benefit by them. President Kalams prescriptions are specific and goal oriented in contrast with the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme proposed by the UPA. The latter smacks of a politically oriented program with no specificity and definition in respect of the projects that it will comprise, but all the potential of pork to the party workers.
It will be a great day when India will start relying more on experts with knowledge and clear thinking than on deceptive politicians.
