1984 riots and gujarat
by rezan on Aug 12, 2005 08:41 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

ur comparison is hypocritical and mischevous. The massacre of sikhs was a response to the grossest violation of political order. The most trusted bodyguard turned around and shot the head of state at the instigation of the powerful sikh community.Do u know what the murdering of a head of state the most important figure in the entire country means. It means murdering the entire constitution of the country itself. So whatever punishment is meted out is justified. In the case of gujarat riots this was a state sponsored organised brutal massacre of defenceless old men, women and children in the most gruesome manner unimaginable in the annals of history. U may say both were massacres but think about the reasons. there was not even proof that it was the muslims who were behind the sabarmati express incident. it was speculated to be hindu sponsored to create an excuse to slaughter muslims. Moreover it was not jusat 3000 musims on that day. ever since partition if u take count muslims have been slaughtered by several thousands each year.Dont make up excuses to justify ur slaughter in gujarat.

What a ridiculous thought. The head of state was killed so killed 3000 Innocents were justified going by the same scale a whole bogie was set on fire with people inside what punishment will the perpetrators get? Both the crimes were avoidable if the governing body took the right steps. Infact the second one was more spontaneous because no one can control a mob that easily. There is a difference between instigation and reacting. What happened in 1984 was instigated. In 2002 it was retaliation to what what happened at Godhra. Now dont come back and give me the useless reports by Justice banerjee. Again what happened at both these incidents could have been prevented.
