Gods are guilty this time!!!
by jeeja prakash on Aug 04, 2005 03:03 PM   Permalink

When I walked into this city first time around a decade ago, I was told , almost assured that Mumbai is the most fast paced city in India, and one of the most rocking cities in the world!!! As i grew in this city, and the city grew on me, I also found that beneath the facade of this brilliant fast paced, enviable piece of land, there lies a very religius , almost spiritual set of people who build their each day and future with help from Him--higer power, from their Vighnadeva --Lord Ganesh. This is evident from the way this city takes to streets during the Ganesh festival in Aug-september. Which city / state publicly celebrates a festival so passionately together irrespective of social status or purchasing power of its people, probably with the exception of Calcutta / Bengal during Durga Pooja.

Still have the gods deserted this city time and again?..take for example the huge loss of life and property during these rains!!!!!
Am not trying to blame a Superior power for some thing like this!!But they say, Gods help those who help themselves, or were Gods trying to figure out actually how resilient are these Mumbaikers? Time to reflect!!!!
