The main thing that comes out from all this is administrative inefficiency and the pathetic lack of accountability of all the govt. officers.. especialy the 180,000 strong BMC. It is high time that the very reason that allows these people to continue in this lackadiascal manner is dealt with. Remove the job security of these govt. officers and sack them when they fail to perform. That is the only way these thick skinned beaurucrats of ours will understand the plight of the people.
Start with the muncipal comissioner. Is he blind that he cannot see the huge no, of illegal encroachments? Is he blind that he cannot see the filth on the roads? IS he deaf that he can\'t hear the no. of people crying hoarse about the red tape at BMC? Can he also not see the rampant corruption in the dept.?
