C.M.-Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh's Ordeal
by Cdr.S.K.Rai I.N.(Retd.) on Aug 01, 2005 07:34 PM   Permalink

Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh is a perfect blend of vision & wisdom. His refind cultured approach is often mistaken as lack of enthusiasm. He has proved himself as true to form efficient administrator.
His Chief Secy. should have advised him to codially invite the prominent community leaders, ex Chief Ministers(if any in Mumbai),D.G.Police with his senior officials,Chief Fire Officer-Mumbai Fire Brigade, and the Commander-in-Chief of Western Naval Command.
It might have been due to lack of exposure, miscalculation of the situation on Tuesday 26 July evening when it was apparent that it was an unusual heavy downpour.By asking a help from Navy, would not have caused any harm to the good reputation of the Govt. The premier command of Indian Navy,in Mumbai has fully experinced sea divers in Command Diving Team and modern life saving equipments. It would have been the life saving boon. When in doubt never hesitate asking the friend (Defence-Indian Navy), or the senior's advice. It is alesson to be learnt.
Please don't blame the C.M.alone.
May God bless the Maharshtra Govt always in all ways.
