What separates jungle raj and civilization is the renunciation of brutal force as means of authority. There have been mightier races that have been eliminated. In fact the first set of humans who used only brute force destroyed themselves by fighting against each other. We belong to the second set of humans who learned the art of living together and gradually replaced force by reason. No doubt we still have people amongst us who think like the extinguished race of humans who destroyed themselves. Wars and arms can lead to only one result, that is ultimate destruction. It is time weed out distrust created by false preachers who are more interested in their own short term gains.

I agree defense is a necessary evil. But do not glorify it. The real threat to the security of nations is the high levels of poverty and illiteracy. Politicians are able to involve even peace loving people in to wars. Cross your heart and answer this question. Given the choice between a plum MNC job and fighting on the border, which one would you prefer? Why should we send hapless people to war fronts and get them killed? Yes we need defense. But more important is to eliminate poverty and illiteracy not only in our own country but in the world around. No amount of arms can provide security in a world of poverty and illiteracy.

On the contrary, if one nation has arms and the other hasn't, it will lead to the "ultimate destruction" of that country which DOESN'T have arms!
