I don't consider this a great feat, topping the IIT or IIM list would have been great. Getting into an IIT is much -much tougher than getting into MIT. BTW this guy is Oriya or Bengali, Panda's are oriya if I am not wrong. SSSSS is correct. I know West Bengal very much I had stayed there for more than 5 years before moving to the US, even the engineering colleges except IIT-K are worthless, corrupt educational system, students whose parents are linked to the ruling party are toppers in exams. The engineering colleges are filled by students from neighbouring states. Pathetic!

don't you see that his house didn't even have electricity? a well educated dude like you getting into 'even' IIM is lesser than anshuman getting into MIT. The idea here is victory amidst adversity and not 'what university'.

don't talk crap - merit seat in MIT is only for truly brilliant. The many 1000s who get into IITs are those who studied for two years in Kota coaching classes...yeah - if you call that hard work and difficult. Try getting 99 percentile on SAT or GMAT.

Remember that guy from Bihar who got admitted to NASA. Fooled the whole nation. I don't believe that he had no idea that MIT is the best in the world, and he seleted MIT by sheer luck, infact all the colleges he selected tops the list. Lies all round. Still congrats for your so-called achievement. Hope India will get it correct this time.

His aspiration was IITs and had no idea about MIT. He is from a society where majority of the peoples dont know even IIMs. It was his luck that he came accross some info about MIT. Then he did some research and got some info. 7-8 months back he had no idea about MIT, SAT etc. He got 2400 out of 2400 in SAT subject tests. It is his bad luck that he could not appear for IIT entrance for illness other wish he could have topped there also.

hmmm, just congratulate the kid yaar. What he has done is commendable and no harm in encouraging a hard working person who is trying to make it on his own. I think we should all wish him all the best for the future.
