Specularor and other posters....

Please be civilized and stick to facts in your debates. We can have a critical debate about Islamic wrongdoings in India without being abusive and disrespectful to the muslims and Islam. While I do agree that are many Indian muslims who are really pakis in their heart and fundamentalistic, we have to remember that there are scores of other Muslim Indians who are proud and patriotic Indians. When we generalize freely, we are also disrespecting great people like Kalam.

We should not pass judgements from today's perspective. India as a country did not even exist in the middle ages when such atrocities took place. There were only small kindgoms fighting with each other. Tippu Stulan who committed atrocities in Malabar was attacked by the Nizams of Hyderabad. Frequent fights between the Kings (Hindu-Hindu and Muslim-Muslim) were common in those periods.

Moreover, more than the ancestors of the hindus, it was the ancestors of the muslims in present day India who were the victims of such atrocities. So there is no need for them to be proud of. On the other hand, I do not expect them to be apologetic also as such incidents were beyond their control.

We are now living in a Country where equality before law is guaranteed by the Constitution, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion or region.

It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain peace and harmoney. The onus for the same does not rest with any particular section of the society.
