True, the American fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan did damage to the counrty. However, the pakis did most of the damage. They continued to interfere in Afghanistan even after the Soviet/American withdrawal. They are the ones who created the Taliban with Saudi money. The pakis wanted to annexe afghanistan as their fifth province to give them strategic depth against India and to finally kill the Durand line issue. The pakis are the biggest culprits. They inflamed ethnic divisions and instigated the Afghans to fight with each other. But for the pakis, Afghanistan would have progressed well after 1990.

Yes, America is the main cause for the rift between India and Pakistan also. They supply F-16 Fighter jets to both the countries and also train their fighter-pilots. Who benefits from that?

The narrow minded leaders from both the countries fail to understand this (by design or by accident - possibly a good chunk of money from the defence deal goes to their Numbered Swiss Bank Account).
