Iranians too Used Sanskrit Female Names
by Kris iyer on Jul 10, 2008 09:29 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Before the Islamic Revolution in Iran, many Iranian (muslim) parents used Sanskrit names for their daughters. Some living outside Iran, still do. Before Islamic fundamentalism swept through B'desh, muslim families used Hindu Bengali names for their girls. Their women too wore nice Bindhi on their forehead. Some may still do. At Madras University, there was a B'deshi lady studying Sanskrit. She said that her religion and culture were two different issues. Her religion was Islam but culture was Bengali, she said. She also said that Sanskrit was the mother of all languages!!

Good observation Kris. Bengali Muslims still have Bengali names and some detest Arab/Pakistani influence on Bangladesh...but unfortunately, W Bengal does not have the assertive character to neutralize Islamic influence and therefore Bangladesh today is a hunting ground of Wahabi funded Islamic terror. The problem greatly lies in Indian cowardice. Its strange that Bollywood which could be used to spread out India's soothing culture, is itself is becoming Islamized gradually.
